There are two main types of Rod Seals:composite seals, and u-cup seals. Both these seals are available in NAK’s range. Rod Seals prevent fluid from leaking out of the cylinder so as to maintain the fluid pressure necessary to facilitate the movement of the piston. The rod has a buffer seal that supports the Rod Seals and prevents leakage under pulsing spike-pressure during heavy-loading of the hydraulic cylinder.

Product Description The UIB3 Rod Seal is a seal that has two parts. There is a primary and secondary ring. The secondary ring provides additional cushioning and back-up support due to the pressures from the pistons. The primary ring is a PU seal and the secondary back-up ring is nylon. The inner diameter lip (of the primary ring) is designed with small gaps that reduce the back pressure, and prevent pressure accumulation inside the seal. This design protects the seal so that it can continue to protect the cylinder. The UIB3 Rod Seal set is always used in a sealing system in combination with U-shaped rod seal (e.g. UIP).
